Welcome to our School
'Growing Well' - Matthew 13. 31-32
Supporting children and adults to flourish

Wark C of E Primary School is situated in the small village of Wark north of Hexham, and most of its pupils come from the surrounding villages, farms and hamlets.

Our school vision is ‘Growing Well’, drawing on the parable of the mustard seed in Matthew 13.31-32:

‘He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.’

The clergy and congregation of our parish church, St. Michael’s, help to support the school with regular activities and monthly visits for ‘Messy Church’.

You can read more on the following pages about how the church supports school to provide an inviting, inclusive environment where all members of the school community, of all faiths or none, are valued, respected and care for one another.
Our school is an integral part of the local community and caters for the educational needs of pupils aged 3 to 11 years. There is a Breakfast Club available each morning from 8.00am with after school provision available from 3.15pm - 5.00pm.

We are part of the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust.
