Music Overview

At Wark C of E Primary School we are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of music in the wider community, and are able to use their musical skills, knowledge, and experience to involve themselves in music, in a variety of different contexts. 

Our whole school approach to curriculum design is inspired by Ebbinghaus' curve of forgetting and our Music curriculum is no different. Through Bruner's spiral curriculum concept children will experience and learn how to sing, listen, play, perform and evaluate taking inspiration from different musical traditions and genres.
