Our School Prayer

Picture
In collective worship the whole school created a new school prayer based on the parable of the mustard seed, our vision and our values; this is our school prayer:

Dear God,
Thank you for everyone in school who cares for us,
Help us to be kind and enjoy life.
Give us the confidence to grow well,
To have courage, and be happy every day.
Amen

Wark School’s vision is of us all ‘Growing Well’, based on the parable of the mustard seed in Matthew 13.31-32:

‘He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.’

Our school values come from the vision and the parable and are:
‘Sowing the seed’
‘Cultivating the ground’
‘Tending the growth’
‘Welcoming all’

The first line of our school prayer is about sowing the seed because we know our school is a safe place where everyone looks out for and cares for each other.
The second line is about cultivating the ground, being kind and enjoying life so everyone can flourish.
The third line is about tending the growth so that we all grow well together.
The last line is about welcoming all and making sure no one is left out.
