Open the Book

Open the book is a project which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear major stories from the bible, from a team of local Christians from local churches, who present the stories during assemblies. 

Autumn 2018

10/09/2018 - David & Goliath
24/09/2018 - Jonah The Groaner - The story of Jonah and what happened when he chose not to do what God had asked.
08/10/2018 - Daniel and the Lion's - Daniel keeps on praying because he believes it is the right thing to do.
22/10/2018 - A time to build - God's people realise they have made a mistake by not listening to God.
05/11/2018 - The First Christmas
03/12/2018 - The Wise Men Visit - The Magi visit Jesus but don't tell Herod where he is.


Spring 2019
14/01/2019 - The Boy in the Temple - Joseph and Mary find Jesus in the Temple after losing him.
28/01/2019 - Jesus is baptised -  Jesus is baptised by his cousin John in the river Jordan
11/02/2019 - Fab Jesus special friends - The story of Jesus choosing his disciples
04/03/2019 - The storm on the Lake - Jesus and his friends on the lake in a storm. Jesus commands the storm to stop
01/04/2019 - The Marvellous Picnic - One boy shares his lunch with Jesus and 5000 others.


Summer 2019
13/05/2019 - The Great Parade.
03/06/2019 - An important meal.
17/06/2019 - A dreadful day and a happy day.
