Ofsted & Siams Inspections

Inspections and Ofsted
Dear friends of the school,
Please find below a copy of our Ofsted reports. We are extremely proud of what it tells us about the school's children, teachers and leaders. It was a positive experience which shone an excellent light on the unique and challenging curriculum that we have designed. It also recognises that all pupils are valued and are able to access everything we have to offer.
As a target, they have identified that ‘Pupils at the earliest stage of reading’ need linked reading books to develop their phonic knowledge. To clarify, ‘Pupils at the earliest stage of reading’ refers to the 3.5% of pupils in school who are below the expected level for their age. All pupils in EYFS and Year 1 do currently have a Read Write Inc. book bag book, based on the weekly sounds, which is also linked to their weekly spellings.

I’d like to highlight some of my favourite comments from the report:
‘Wark Church of England Primary School is a warm and welcoming school where each pupil is valued.’
‘Leaders and staff have high expectations for all pupils in school. They want pupils to fulfil their potential.’
‘Pupils enjoy school life. They thrive in the positive relationships they have with all staff and their peers.’
‘Pupils benefit from leaders who have thought carefully about opportunities to deepen learning in this small school.’
‘Leaders have the same high expectations for all pupils, including pupils with SEND.’
‘The positive relationships between pupils and staff mean that the school is like a big family.’
‘‘A really supportive school that treats the children as individuals and tries to get the best out of them,’ captured how many parents feel about the school.’
