School Meals

School Dinners

The Battlesteads Hotel have provided our school meal service since February 2012. This has proved to be a very successful venture with almost all of our pupils enjoying the Battlesteads lunch. 
As of September 2014 children in reception, year 1 & year 2 will receive free school meals as part of a Government initiative.

Free School Meals: If you are in receipt of Child Tax Credit, with no Working Tax Credit (income below £16,190), Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance, Income Based Employment and Support Allowance, Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit or fall under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 you may be entitled to qualify for free school meals. Just call 0845 6006400 to apply immediately over the phone.  Alternatively you can log on to www.northumberland.gov.uk/fsm to apply online.

Packed Lunches

All children are encouraged to have a hot school meal but may bring a packed lunch if preferred. As we promote healthy eating within school please see link to suggested lunch box ideas.

Fruit
We also offer afternoon fruit which is supplied by Fresh 'n' Thyme. This is £1.75 per week and charged via the comms system. once a term. Nursery children are charged 86p per week.
